Rounds thumping against my armor, acting as my shield,
I’m trying to stay alive.
Heading across this barren field,
I’m riding towards in flight.

Charging right through the lines we broke.
Breaking upon them as a fiery storm,
We slashed at them with saber stroke.
Just like a Hornet’s swarm.

Foes being trampled underneath our hooves,
Looking upon our majestic wings.
Ending them underneath our foot.
We fight for our king.

The Winged Hussars we are.
Angels of War we’re deemed,
Death is all we bring.
And so we bear many scars.

For this life is dangerous,
We lead for our just cause.
For we are the courageous,
Even if we must fall.
I like to romanticize knights and cavalry, Men who ride into the thick of battle, and can ride just as fast out. As cavalry is quite the psychological factor in warfare. The Winged Hussars being quite the fiercest foe during 15th to early 18th centuries, as one of the toughest cavalry there were. They had armored wings on their backs, being viewed as warrior angels as they maimed and kill infantry as shock troops. So I made a poem as one warrior who views his position proudly. The Winged Hussars were formed in Poland by the way.

You wrote a text dedicated to Winged Hussars before it was mainstream (if you know, what I mean :D).
